If a laser attempted to jam our infrared imaging sensor, we had to rapidly detect the jamming, then swing the correct optical filter in place to block the jamming laser’s wavelength (filters not installed yet in this image). I could tell stories about this gizmo for hours but they are mostly classified. Let’s just say that designing and demonstrating this device within 6 months saved my company from losing a $2B DoD program.
